About me
My name is Melanie Ward (she/her), and I'm from the USA. I have been living abroad for 7 years (in China and the Netherlands).
After completing my MSc in Clinical Psychology at Utrecht University, I took the opportunity to live in China and become a primary teacher. I also work as a primary educator at an international school in Amsterdam.
I am so happy to be able to pursue both career field-passions simultaneously and to work closely with the well-being of the international community in different facets. I love to play my harp and practice yoga in my free time!
Overview of Therapy
I offer 1-1 person-centered approach in English. At the core of my therapeutic practice is compassionate listening and uniqueness of every individual’s journey.
While trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFIT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) I hope to create a collaborative therapeutic experience that resonates with you—personalized, culturally-sensitive, empathetic, and non-linear in its exploration. EFT, CBT, and ACT serve as a foundational tools, offering structured techniques that illuminate the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Together, we navigate through various techniques, reflective exercises, and creative process tailored to empower you in your journey.
